BMW is showcasing the 2013 Concept Active Tourer Outdoor at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show.
This concept is a follow-up to last year’s concept and could indicate what we should expect from the 1-Series GT which will supposedly be offered with five- and seven-seat configurations. Talking about the dimensions, the concept measures 4350mm in length, 1833mm in width and 1576mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2670mm and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The powertrain is a plug-in hybrid arrangement consisting of a 1.5-liter gasoline mill sending power to the front wheels working together with an electric motor which enables the concept to have a combined output of 190 HP (140 kW). The concept will also come with a fuel consumption of just 2.5 liters / 100 km (94 mpg US or 113 mpg UK).
The model can run on power for up to 19 miles (30 km) and will be able to achieve the 62 mph (100 kmph) sprint in 8 seconds when used as a hybrid and would come with a top speed of 125 mph (200 kmph).
There are chances that BMW will unveil the 1-Series GT at the next year, Geneva Motor Show in March 2014.
