Peugeot is in the process of preparing a mid-size SUV for the Chinese market which will receive the “6008” nameplate.
We had earlier heard rumors in around October about a Peugeot 6008 concept programmed to make an appearance at the next year’s Beijing Motor Show and now it seems the car in question can be seen in this photo which was probably created for a presentation. The concept will receive a production version in the year 2015 and will ride on PSA’s new EMP2 architecture and will be built by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture in China.
The 2015 Peugeot 6008 will be offered as standard with features that include a 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with an output of 163 hp (121 kW) and an optional newly developed V6 mill created specifically for the Asian markets.
Talking about the pricing, the base model will kick off from around 200,000 yuan (approx. 33,000 USD / 24,000 EUR / 20,100 GBP) while the range-topping version is expected to touch around 250,000 yuan (approx 49,400 USD / 36,000 EUR / 30,000 GBP).
