AM General restarts MV-1 production, costs 50,000 USD [video]

by SpeedLux

AM General has recently announced that the production of the MV-1 has started again and they want to build as many as 5,600 units this year.

Primarily known for making the Humvee, AM General has managed to again begin the production of the MV-1 van which comes with a starting price of 50,000 USD and goes up to 60,000 USD. The vehicle was originally put together by Vehicle Production Group but they went bust more than a year ago. Back in 2013 in September, AM General came to an agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy to purchase the assets to the MV-1.

The van comes with an integrated ramp and room for two wheelchairs and it’s actually the only vehicle to exceed the standards established by the Americans with Disabilities Act. AM General has also announced recently that deliveries of the MV-1 are programmed to start from April 1st.

We can only wish the team all the very best and hope this time the luck does not run out for AM General.
