Sure, there have been rumors swirling around the web for quite a while that suggest the new Ford GT is in the pipeline. However, the American automaker, Ford, itself has yet to confirm whether these rumors are true or just what they are, rumors. While some people are convinced that the American car manufacturer will be launching the next generation Ford GT at the upcoming North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) event in Detroit, US, the company has reportedly registered a new trademark. What makes this trademark interesting is that it comes with an image depicting the shape of the vehicle model mentioned earlier.
The image of the new trademark seems to feature some sorts of a ghosted stylish speeding car. Unfortunately, as much as it may resemble the Ford GT, no one can tell for sure just yet. The thing is, the American automaker has made sure that it does not leak out too much information in the filing of its new trademark. It is only known that this new trademark will cover a diverse set of goods and services. Well, that is basically everything, it seems, from brake fluid to ashtrays.
Taking that into consideration, there is in fact a probability that the new trademark and logo will not be used for the next generation Ford GT model. Instead, the new trademark may well be used for the company’s performance division. Yes, not long ago, it was officially reported that the company would establish the Ford Performance division, which would sell accessories and high performance stuffs. Although nothing is known for sure just yet, they will be revealed eventually in the near future. So, the wise thing to do now, it seems, is simply to wait for the US automaker to take over the NAIAS site, Joe Louis Arena, which will happen on January 12, 2015.
