Honda wishes to utilize its sitting Formula 1 engine advancement tokens for a limited variety of extremely considerable upgrades instead of multiple small actions, as per motorsport chief Yusuke Hasegawa.

McLaren’s works partner is the sole producer to have not invested any of its engine tokens given since 2016 season began.

Renault, which will launch a significant upgrade soon, used one for Bahrain while Mercedes and Ferrari spent 2 and 3 for Russia.

“Obviously we keep developing, we simply need to choose when we can anticipate to present the brand-new technology or tokens,” Hasegawa stated.

The World Motor Sport Council just recently ratified new policies that will mean the token system is eliminated at the end of the season.

It is part of a push for power merging and Hasegawa states Honda is satisfied with the decision.

Strategies to increase the engine sound involve the execution of a conventional power device exhaust generator.

Hasegawa is not sure whether F1 needs such a gadget but remains in favour if that is exactly what fans desire.

“I don’t know if we require such a big sound for Formula 1, however if the fans wish to present it then we’ll follow their opinions,” he stated.
