A five-week-old kitten has actually been saved from the car’s engine, after travelling 20 kilometers and spending 8 hours caught while the automobile owner was at work.

The stray kitten, which has since been called ‘Honda’, in some way discovered its method into the driver’s engine, taking a trip from Deer Park to Parkville on Tuesday early morning.

It was only when the automobile owner started to drive home about 7pm, that she heard a significantly loud meowing noise.

Alarmed, she went to the Lort Smith Animal Hospital located in North Melbourne, where firefighters were called to help rive the vehicle to find the kitten. It was ultimately discovered stuck behind the car’s radiator grille.

Lort Smith’s head of hospital services, Dr Russell Harrison, said the kitten was extremely lucky, and in surprisingly good condition regardless of his cross-city ordeal.

“He sustained minor burns to the back paw pads which were treated and pain relief was provided,” Dr Harrison said.

“He was also really hungry and took pleasure in a huge bowl of food prior to being released. He has actually now been reunited with the mother cat and other kittens.”
