Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV has stated that it is recalling 1.9 million automobiles worldwide for an air bag problem connected to 3 deaths and five injuries.

It is the recent in a series of massive air bag recalls, as the car market faces an expanding variety of problems from potentially unsteady inflators to bad software.

The Fiat Chrysler recall includes non-deployment of airbags and seat belt pretensioners in some crashes. It impacts 1.4 million U.S. automobiles offered from 2010 and 2014, including the Chrysler Sebring, 200, Dodge Caliber, Avenger, Jeep Patriot and also Compass SUVs.

“There is a hypersensitivity now in the market to vehicle safety,” told Scott Upham, of Valient Market. Automakers continue to modify air bag software application, he stated, keeping in mind that there is “a fine line in telling the bag when to deploy or not” in some circumstances.
