Women tied and dragged at Hameln, Germany, at "high speeds"

A women was left seriously injured after being tied to the back of a car and dragged through the streets of a town at “high speeds”.

The 28-year-old female, who had a rope tied around her neck, was discovered resting on the pavement following the attack in Hameln.

Soon after she was found a 38-year-old man turned himself in to police and was arrested. Prosecutors informed the man was the victim’s ex-partner.

Police spokesperson Jens Petersen stated the woman had been dragged at “high speeds” for around 250 metres along tarmac and cobbled streets, before she ended up being separated from the vehicle.

He included: “It is still unclear whether (the rope) is torn or whether the knot has actually loosened.”

The victim was taken to hospital and went through an emergency operation, prior to being flown to a professional clinic.

She remained in a deadly condition on her arrival, Mr Petersen informed.

Cops are dealing with the incident as an attempted murder.

“It is impossible with exactly what cruelty and human contempt this action was performed,” city government representative Thomas Wahmes stated.

Reports on social networks suggested that there had likewise been a shooting, but Mr Petersen dismissed the claims as “pure rumors”.

He included that the suspect had “given himself as a culprit” and did not withstand his arrest.

Victim and the suspect are German nationals of Kurdish origin, Die Presse noted.
