Long a holdout, BMW has now released support for Apple’s CarPlay by providing the technology as an upgrade choice for 2 Series cars.

The choice costs $300, and is offered on Coupe, Convertible, xDrive Coupe, and xDrive Convertible variations of the 230i and M240i. The 2017 230i begins at $32,850, while the M240i costs upwards of $45,145.

BMW first revealed plans to support CarPlay in November. In May, leaks exposed that the X5M and X6M would receive support, and by June the function was anticipated for upcoming versions of the M3 and M4 also.

Some automakers have actually been more hesitant of CarPlay than others, either intending to steer individuals towards exclusive dashboard user interfaces or working to discover the best integration technique. Other firms may have merely wanted to see need prior to committing.
