Mazda to recall over 2 million vehicles worldwide due to defective tail gate and engine problems

Mazda Motor is going to recall 2.3 million automobiles worldwide, over problems connected to their tail gate. The exact same was unveiled by the Japanese car manufacturer on Thursday (1 September).

An estimated of 390,000 automobiles will be recalled in Japan and about 1.8 million automobiles will be recalled in the abroad markets. While Mazda declined to provide a local breakdown of the numbers, it stated the move will help repair the damper stays on the rear gates of these vehicles, which if exposed to salt might rust and break.

The models impacted include among others, the Mazda3 sedan and hatchback and the Mazda CX-3 crossover SUV. The automobiles that have actually been affected were produced in between December 2007 and December 2015.

A different report, pointing out the Japanese transport ministry said that Mazda would recall an additional 130,000 vehicles in the residential market over a flaw related to its diesel motor. The ministry said that the automaker was taking this move after getting 846 consumer complaints.
