Person hacked Grand Theft Auto to turn a Google autonomous car run crazy

Think of having fun with a Google driverless vehicle inside the fictional world of the Grand Theft Automobile (GTA) video game. A YouTuber has actually done that.

PizzaForBreakfast (who did not want to reveal his identity) hacked GTA to add the pod-shaped Google car slaughtering pedestrians, informing CNBC the concept was a satire on what could fail when new technology is launched too early.

“Technology makes our lives definitely easier and it’s an amazing age to be alive. But it’s both a true blessing and a curse. At some time, every brand new smart phone crashes, every top of the line computer system needs to be updated, every out-of-date facsimile machine is changed by an extremely luxurious cordless bluetooth all-in-one printer. And I believe the concept for the video came from that,” PizzaForBreakfast told CNBC by email.

“Vehicles are currently a feat in engineering, but that’s not enough – now we desire vehicles to drive themselves. So while companies are racing to be the very first to supply the ‘latest and biggest,’ I believed it ‘d be funny to envision exactly what could fail if Google launched their self-driving automobile prototype a little too soon.”

PizzaForBreakfast overlaid sound from an ABCNews report and used GTA’s in-game recording function to make the clip. He also installed “mods”– open source pieces of code– to customize the online game to include the Google Vehicle. The video has up until now acquired over 200,000 views.

Google did not immediately react to a request for remark when contacted by CNBC.

Google has been testing autonomous automobiles in a number of sites throughout the U.S. So far, they have actually done over 1.5 million miles of autonomous driving jointly. Google is also looking at methods to advertise its innovation. Recently, Google struck a deal with Fiat Chrysler to construct 100 self-driving minivans.
