Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante revealed

by Alex

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 70-4 Spyder Performance was first seen due to some leaked online pictures of the car recently. The Italian manufacturer has now released official details of the car which is a 570 hp soft top super car. The weight of the car has been reduced by 65 kg or 143 lbs, which was an engineering skill and this in turn has helped in improving the Spyder’s performance.

Many of the parts on the car have been replaced by carbon fiber components which have made the greatest difference when it comes to weight. There is an approximate 40 percent reduction in weight with this technology.

The shell has been made of aluminum which is also light in weight and the body shell is a spaceframe structure. All this necessitated high engineering skill and time as per Lamborghini.

The same material has been used for the panel covering the soft-top, engine and transmission, and also for parts of the body kit, like the rear spoiler, diffuser and mirror casings. The center tunnel cover has also been made from carbon fiber as well as the door panels and the sports seats shell.

The total weight of the car now stands at 1,485 kg or 3,275 lbs. which is an impressive figure given the fact that open-top cars need serious strengthening to maintain the optimal structural rigidity.

The same 5.2-liter V10 unit, which is also used on the Superleggera has been fitted on this car also. The engine delivers 570 hp at 8,000 rpm and 540 Nm or 398 lb ft at 6,500 rpm. The car is an all wheel drive and the power is transmitted by an automated e-gear six-speed gear box system. There is the added feature of launch control by which there is seldom any chance of running out of grip. There is also a six speed manual transmission system on the car and this comes at no extra cost.

The brake discs are 365 mm in front and 356 mm at the rear. Buyers have the option of getting carbon ceramic brakes also where in the front disks would be of 380 millimeters.

The car can do the 0 to 62 mph or 100 kmph rush in 3.9 seconds. The car is therefore just half a second lesser in this aspect when compared to the Superleggera coupe. Top speed of the car is 324kmph or 201 mph however that is not an advisable speed to touch in this car.

For stability the engineers at Lamborghini used a running gear directly derived from motorsport, featuring a high-tech aluminum double wishbone setup.

19 inch super lightweight rims with titanium bearings and bolts and shod in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires is what the car rests and runs upon. This translates to a weight saving of 13 kg or 29 lbs as per the manufacturers.

There is air conditioning and electric window as standard fit of the car and all this is included when the weight of the car has been stated. Pricing and other details would be out shortly is what is expected.
