2011 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible unveiled ahead of Geneva debut

by Ionut Dragomir

Last year Bentley introduced the Continental Supersports Coupe with a twin-turbocharged W12 engine that produces 621 bhp. In just two weeks they will introduce the Convertible version of the Continental Supersports at the Geneva Motor Show.

It is the fastest, most potent drop-top Bentley ever built, 0-60 mph comes in just 3.9 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds) and a top speed is 202 mph(325 km/h).

At the moment it is also the fastest four-seat convertible in the world. Just like all others models in the Continental model range, it is capable of running on both gasoline and E85 bioethanol or any combination of the two. This FlexFuel technology offers a reduction of up to 70 per cent in CO2 emissions on a ‘well-to-wheel’ basis.

Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen comments: “The new Supersports Convertible blends thrilling performance and dramatic styling with luxury and practicality in the Bentley open-top tradition. Extreme power combines with pioneering FlexFuel technology, now shared with all Continental models, reflecting Bentley’s ongoing commitment to more environmental motoring.”

Is it better than the Supersports Coupe version? Absolutely as the coupe does not have rear seats. With this one you can take 3 of your best (girl)friends with you for a very powerful and luxurious open-top ride.
