2014 Kia K900 confirmed for Los Angeles Auto Show

by SpeedLux

Kia has recently announced its plans to display the 2014 U.S.-spec K900 at the Los Angeles Auto Show to be held in November.

From this announcement we can conclude that earlier rumors were spot on as Kia will be introducing a flagship model in the United States which will be sold with the K900 moniker and will sit above the Cadenza. The “K900” nameplate comes after the company faced an injunction over the Quoris name.

As per the previous reports, the Kia K900 will be available with a choice of V6 and V8 engines that would be sending power to the rear axle. The details are not available but we can assume the V6 engine will be 3.8-liter MPI that may generate 290 hp (216 kW) while the V8 may be a 420 hp (313 kW) 5.0-liter Tau.

As we know that the Cadenza starts off from 35,900 USD, we can expect that the K900 may come with a starting price of around 50,000 USD and the top range model may cost 70,000 USD. In an interview recently, Kia Motors America spokesman refused to specify whether the K900 will be based on the recently facelifted 2014 Hyundai Equus.
