2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible rendered by WCF reader

by SpeedLux

One of the readers of Worldcarfans.com has rendered a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible envisioned in relation to the 2007 Ocean Drive concept.

Recently Mercedes-Benz’s head of research and development Thomas Weber announced that an S-Class Convertible is in the works and will be based on the S-Class Coupe. While the Ocean Drive concept came with four doors, the 2014 S-Class Cabrio will feature only two doors and a retractable soft top.

In the rendered image we can see a convertible variant of the sedan riding on black multi-spoke alloy wheels and featuring a soft top. The V12 clearly indicates that the reader has envisioned the car in the S65 AMG flavor with a V12 6.0-liter engine which in the sedan may generate an output of 630 HP (463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque.

Though Mercedes-Benz has not yet confirmed whether the coupe and convertible will receive more powerful AMG versions, a prototype of the S63 AMG Coupe has already been captured on camera earlier by spy photographers and so most likely there will be an S63 AMG Convertible as well. Talking about the S65 AMG, as of now we know that only the sedan will get the V12 engine but it could be carried over to other body styles as well.
