2015 Volkswagen Passat spied for a second time

by SpeedLux

A mule of the next-gen Volkswagen Passat has been spied yet again and this time undergoing testing in the United States.

Just like the earlier spied images, these spy photos are also showing the Variant version featuring a new front fascia which remains hidden under the camouflage. With the help of these mules, Volkswagen is testing out a new engine, which also gives us a chance to have a look at the front air intakes of the next-gen Passat.

Scheduled to come out sometime in the year 2015, the all-new model will ride on Volkswagen’s MQB platform which also underpins the seventh-gen Golf. As a result of this it can be expected that the weight will be slightly lesser and combined with more efficient engines we can surely expect a better fuel efficient model.

Not much detail is available as of now but there are reports which mention that the new Volkswagen Passat will likely be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015. Well till then we will have to keep waiting for the final model and details to be unveiled so that we can get more insights about the new model.
