2016 Jaguar XF Spotted

by SpeedLux

The next generation Jaguar XF has taken quite some time for development. Now, the aforementioned vehicle model from the British automaker has been spotted as it undergoes some factory tests which seemingly aim to assess just how durable the car is in withstanding cold weather condition. The vehicle in question is likely to make its world debut at the same day this year’s New York Auto Show event kicks off.

In spite of the heavy camouflage that Jaguar has applied onto the car, it really does not take that long to figure out that this is most likely the successor to the company’s XF vehicle lineups. The sedan is going to sport quite an evolutionary front fascia design. It now comes with a new pair of headlamps infused with LED light bulbs and a front grille with a rectangular shape. Then, going farther to the back of the car, the design looks familiar to that of the predecessor yet the trunk has been revised and now sports an integrated rear spoiler.

Inside the cabin of the vehicle, a new dashboard design is in place. The air vents on the dashboard, however, look rather conventional. The interior is also dominated by a metallic trim. An onboard vehicle infotainment system with a considerably large display panel and a rotary gear knob are also available.

The British automotive marquee is currently trying to keep its lips sealed when it comes to the technical spec sheets of the vehicle. However, analysts believe that the car will be based on the company’s extended version of the iQ[AI] chassis that is also used on the Jaguar XE. This should reduce the vehicle’s weight by 100 kg compared to its predecessor.

Prospective buyers of the vehicle can also expect the presence of the company’s 2.0L 4-cylinder so-called Ingenium engine or a 3.0L V6 engine. The latter should develop 340 bhp and 450 Nm of power and torque. The range-topping engine will most likely be a V8 engine with 5.0L displacement capacity.
