268 mph Mercedes Lotec C1000 going up for auction

by SpeedLux

RK Motors Collector Car Auctions has recently announced that they would auction off a handful of rare Mercedes.

There is a 1995 Mercedes Lotec C1000 that was commissioned by a United Arab Emirates-based businessman who wanted to own the fastest car in the world. It comes with aerodynamic styling and is equipped with twin-turbo 5.6-liter V8 engine generating a massive 1,000 hp (745 kW) and is connected to a six-speed Hewland transmission which enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and can hit a top speed of 268 mph.

Then there is a 2002 Mercedes CLK GTR which is one of only six roadsters in existence and the model is in “pristine condition” and the best part is that it has only 71 miles (114 km) odometer. It is powered by a 6.9-liter V12 engine producing 604 hp (450 kW) and 572 lb-ft (775 Nm) of torque. This enables the car to achieve the 0-60 mph sprint in 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 199 mph.

The cars will be auctioned off at an event that will take place at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina on 2nd November.
