Ford Motor’s department in Germany stated that its automobiles and engines, consisting of its newest diesel motors, adhere to present emissions rules.

Ford is not using unlawful devices to cheat on emissions tests, the automaker’s German department stated by e-mail, according to Reuters.

Germany’s WirtschaftsWoche magazine reported recently that the U.S. automaker’s mid-sized Mondeo model was being investigated by the German automobile authority KBA for the possible use of unlawful devices.

Ford stated it has talked with the KBA about its Mondeo 2.0 TCDi model and has pledged to cooperate with the German authority.
