The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated Friday it is starting an investigation into potential air bag failure in 415,000 Volkswagen automobiles after the the automaker released a recall for the exact same issue in 2015.
The agency stated it had 90 complaints of issues after the recall was revealed including some reports of issues after owners had repairs finished. NHTSA stated a component of the air bag might become polluted and cause the air bag not to deploy in a crash.
The investigation covers 8 models from the 2010-2014 timespan, consisting of the Jetta, Tiguan, Golf and Passat.
