Stellantis stops UK van plant shift due to increase in COVID-19 cases

Stellantis will temporarily halt a shift at its Vauxhall van factory in Luton, southern England, because a huge number of workers isolated to halt the spread of COVID-19.

“The safety of our staff is of the highest priority at Stellantis,” the automaker said. “In order to protect our teams, our plant in Luton will move from three shifts to two shifts for the duration of this week.”

About 5,473,477 people in the UK have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed 128,727 people in the country.
