Two Oakton High School students were killed and four others were injured after a car crash in Fairfax County on Tuesday.

The crash took place at about 11:45 a.m. at Blake Lane and Five Oaks Road when a BMW was traveling south on Blake at high speed, and the driver of a Toyota 4Runner, headed north on Blake, was trying to turn left onto Five Oaks.

The BMW hit the Toyota before it ricocheted off the side of the road, striking the three pedestrians.

All of the pedestrians, police say, were students at Oakton High School.

Two pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene.

One pedestrian was admitted to the hospital with critical injuries.

Two people in the BMW had non-life-threatening injuries and the Toyota driver had small injuries.

Two killed, four injured after car crash in Fairfax County is so unfortunate. The excitement, and distractions during high school graduation week is always a dangerous time for the youth. Even though the BWM may have driving the speed limit (high rate of speed), it seems like it had the right-of-way on Blake Lane and the Toyota 4 Runner did not yield the right-of-way. Guess the insurance lawyers will sort through it all.
