FedEx Office is set to pilot Ford Motor’s electric vans to pickup and deliver parcels in some places, the unit of FedEx Corp said on Tuesday.

The move comes as part of the delivery company’s move to reduce its fleet’s tailpipe emissions.

FedEx, in collaboration with Ford Pro, is set to test 10 Ford E-Transit vans throughout its ‘FedEx SameDay City network’ in nine markets.

FedEx has set a target of 2040, by which it aims to transition its entire pickup and delivery fleet to all-electric zero tailpipe emission vehicles.

It also has a partnership with General Motors’ BrightDrop unit for adding electric vans to its fleet.
