Two 29-year-old Jacksonville men died on Thursday morning following a wrong-way, head-on crash that took place on Ponte Vedra Boulevard (A1A) north of Guana River Road in Florida.

The crash took place when the men were in a car headed south on A1A and they crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic before hitting a pick-up truck head-on.

The 57-year-old male truck driver from St. Augustine suffered minor injuries.

The impact of the head-on crash sent the car spinning out and it was struck on the right side by an SUV that had been traveling south on A1A behind the truck.

The 28-year-old woman who was driving the SUV experienced serious injuries.

The driver and passenger in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.

Florida Highway Patrol investigated the incident.
