BYD Expands Beijing Lineup with Denza Z Debut, Formula Sedans, and a 308 Mph Yangwang Road Car

BYD arrived in Beijing with several premieres spread across nearly every corner of its portfolio, from family transport to low-slung performance machines. The broadest attention settled around Denza, where the brand introduced the Z as a production convertible with a soft-top roof and output beyond 1,000 horsepower. The company lists a sprint from zero to 100 kph in less than two seconds, with DiSus-M electromagnetic body-control working underneath. A full international release is scheduled for summer, with Goodwood already named in the launch plan.

Another part of the stand looked entirely different. Fang Cheng Bao brought the Formula range forward, beginning with the Formula X, a two-door concept built around a full carbon fiber structure and shaped close to the road. BYD says more than 80 percent of this car already matches the production version expected next year. The front carries “Sharp Leopard Eye” headlamps, while nineteen separate air passages shape airflow across the body.

At the rear, “Infinite Ring” lamps sit above hollowed diffusers and an electric spoiler. Inside, the layout stays compact, with a retractable steering wheel, integrated sports seats, and a four-point harness. BYD links the project to a three-motor drivetrain.

Three sedans followed under the same Formula banner, although one of them stretches beyond standard sedan proportions. Formula S serves as the core three-box entry, Formula SL shifts toward a larger luxury direction and adds an electric rear wing, while Formula S GT takes the shooting-brake route. Its roofline uses a 21-degree angle inspired by a hunting posture. BYD expects all three on sale during the third quarter.

Yangwang added another contrast. The U9 Xtreme “The Dawn” appeared as the road-going version of a model already tied to a claimed 496.22 kph top speed, equal to 308 mph. Nearby stood the U7 flagship sedan and the U8L Four-Seater Dingzang Edition finished in “Ink Jade Blue”. That larger sport-utility vehicle keeps the e4 quad-motor layout and dual zero-gravity seats, while suspension reactions happen in milliseconds.

Further back, BYD updated volume products too. Seal 08 and Sealion 08 arrived with Second Generation Blade Battery packs and Flash Charging, with full charging time listed at nine minutes. Ocean-V stood nearby as a concept with an interior able to switch into cinema or camping modes.

The third-generation Yuan PLUS, sold abroad as ATTO 3, also entered the spotlight. Sales for this model already passed 1.1 million units across 116 markets. The new version adds God’s Eye B with LiDAR-assisted automated driving, a longer wheelbase, 39 storage zones, a 750-liter rear trunk, and a 180-liter front compartment. Top rear-wheel-drive output reaches 327 hp, with 630 km listed under CLTC testing.
