Suzuki Bonneville Kizashi all set for its market onslaught

by Alex

Suzuki is adding its special edition Kizashi model to the Blown Gas Coupe category of cars. This one is expected to add fire to the competition in this class of vehicles.

Making of the Bonneville Kizashi model had been kick started with the Kizashi prototype; as disclosed by the North American division of Suzuki. The team that did the work on the prototype and conversion thereof was the Holdener/Habrzyk team. The team installed the SCTA-approved roll cage, an aluminum bulkhead in the rear, racing seat, seat harnesses and window net on the prototype. They even fitted the Bonneville Kizashi with a new intake manifold added a tuned ‘long tube’ header and forged rods and pistons.

Other features of the car are its Turbonetics turbocharger, and full synthetic 5W-20 racing oil from Lucas Oil and a new 3.5-inch exhaust. For ensuring stock measurements the spare motor of the car was disassembled even while the cylinder head was flowed and ported.

Need for a new ACT Clutch and Pressure Plate became mandatory due to this extra power. The company states that the Kizashi platform and its Nurburgring heritage is “morphed into a salt-specific recipe” especially so due to the addition of new coilovers, steel wheels seam welded, and speed-specific 15×7-inch Goodyear Front Runner rubber.

The nose of the car is planted in an air dam and the window straps and hood pins ensure the hood and glass are in place. For emergency stops the car has a parachute incorporated.
