McLaren is launching their MP4-12C and a launch tour is being conducted by them for this. And this is one tour that one should not miss for anything on this earth. News about the launch tour was announced soon after the presentation of the supercar at the North American market at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The tour is to commence from Toronto , Ontario on the 1st and 2nd of September. The MP4-12C would be presented at all the dealers premises, who form the key to McLaren sales. This process would permit prospective buyers to not only see firsthand the MP4-12C but also get to talk with the people who made this car happen.
The itinerary of the MP4-12C tour would be including the locations of McLaren Chicago: Lake Forest Sportscars; McLaren Dallas: Park Place; McLaren Greenwich (McLaren’s representative in the New York Tri-State area): Miller Motorcars; McLaren San Francisco: Price Family Dealerships; McLaren Tampa Bay: Dew Luxury Motor Cars and The Collection McLaren which represents the Miami market. Dates for a further two locations that is Orange County and Philadelphia have yet to be finalised.
The engine unit of the MP4-12C is a V8 twin turbo of 3.8 liter cubic capacity. The engine produces 600 hp and 433 lb ft of torque. For transmission there is the seven speed Seamless Shift Dual clutch gear box which is also a McLaren designed unit. The acceleration of the car is 0 to 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds with top speeds of the car being 200 mph. sales of the car starts from 2011 and the starting price is between $225,000 and $250,000.
