Honda Motor Co. recalled 528,000 vehicles all over the world today on 23rd October. It is believed that most of these vehicles are Odyssey minivans that are sold in the US. The company is making this recall as they see that there is some potential problem with the master brake cylinder seal in these vehicles. Of the total Honda recalls, about 435,000 are U.S. Odyssey minivan models from 2005 to 2007. A small amount of 2005 to 07 Acura RL sedans that were sold are also included in this recall.
ADVICS Co. the same supplier for Honda and Toyota is a private Japanese firm with its unit in the US and serves to be the provider of seals for both the automakers. However, no injuries and accidents have been reported till now because of these faulty seals.

Honda reported that the seals may prove to be a failure and may cause leakage of the brake fluid in case the factory provided fluid is replaced with the non factory one. A spokeswoman from Honda also added that the company will now tell its customers to bring the vehicles for repairs at the dealerships only. In case the brake warning light of the dashboard gets illuminated, the drivers are requested to bring the cars to dealerships instantly, without any delays.

An alteration in the method the supplier creates seals was done after the vehicles suffered by the recalling were produced. The latest seals permit for huge variety of brake fluids and that too without causing any leaks, as reported by Toyota on Thursday.

Indeed, Honda did not add how much these repairs will cost to the automaker. This Honda recall is somewhat identical to the one that was issues by Toyota Motor Corp. on Thursday for 1.5 million vehicles all across the world.
