A full gallery covering every aspect of the 5 door version of the Range Rover Evoque by Land Rover has finally been released by the company for public viewing.
This model has more space and has a greater practical design that the Land rover Concept Car whose sibling this one is.
Phil Popham, said Land Rover’s Managing Director says “While retaining everything that’s great about the Range Rover Evoque coupé, this new 5-Door body style will offer customers even more choice, greater practicality, versatility and flexibility.”
The muscular look and the raised belt line style have been retained but the roof has been lifted by 30 mm compared to the coupe. The overall length and breadth of the car remains the same while the designers have yet managed to increase the internal room space that this car has to offer its occupants by about 50 mm or 2 inches of shoulder room as also the added height giving more headroom.
In case the glass roof is replaced with a full sized glass top it would give added sensation and space to the car.
For the interior there is the option being offered by the company to cover the entire surface with premium quality leather package. The folding seats are 60/40 having ISOFIX child seat mounts and, when required, luggage capacity can be expanded to a decent 1,445 liters.
An intuitive touch screen display caters for all the function of the SUV. The screen is a dual display one and this provides for both the driver and passenger access to the functions either simultaneously or separately as required. There is also a range of USB and auxiliary input devices and an integrated Bluetooth feature also available on the car.
The car is also fitted with a high-end sound system of Meridian make. The system comprises of 17 speakers delivering a total of 825 W of surround-sound performance.
The Adaptive Dynamics System with MagneRide can be installed under the sheet metal. This would give a better balance between handling and ride quality. In off road conditions the Terrain Response manages the full-time four-wheel-drive system. This is a company’s signature system of sorts. There is also the distinction of the Evoque being the Range Rover with a front-wheel drive option.
For engine the car has modern petrol and diesel engines which are supposed to offer “four-cylinder efficiency with six-cylinder refinement and power”.
The 2.2 liter diesel engine comes in two sub division that of 150 hp (112 kW) and 190 hp (142 kW) and these are the ones that are more popular in the European market.
The petrol engine is a 2.0 liter one and has turbocharging with direct fuel injection and twin variable valve timing. The unit is capable of producing 240 hp or 179 Kw.
Starting summer of 2011 the Ranger rover Evoque would be up for sale in more than 160 countries in its 5 door version. The base price of the car in UK is £30,000 and in the US the price starts from $45,000.
