Just a year has passed since the British manufacturers Aston Martin have launched the Vantage GT4 racing car model. Yet they are ready with an updated version of the car all set to be produced in the year 2011. The renovated version of the car has gathered inspiration from the Aston Martin V12 Vantage road car. The revised version will be having improved aerodynamics and an enhanced down force along with many other major and minor tweaks.
The car will have its base engine, aluminum chassis, and suspension designs similar to the V12 Vantage car model.
The aerodynamic changes that has been introduced in the car include a new splitter which enhances the down force on the car facilitating flow of direct cooling air to the brakes and the radiator as well. The rear end of the Aston Martin model has abridged the larger ‘boot flip’ from the V12 model. The 2011 version is all set with a new carbon fiber diffuser along with a rear under floor. According to Aston Martin this will create a low pressure area beneath the car in the rear portion which will help increasing the down force. This will also allow more air to pass through a brand new rear-mounted high capacity transmission oil cooler.
The car does not only vary from its predecessor in the changes introduced in the aerodynamics and the powertrain aspects of the car, but as per Aston Martin, the car comes with an option of equipping a race-developed Bosch ABS and traction control system which has been designed by Bosch Motorsport keeping the Vantage GT4 in mind.
The company has stated that along side its very own one-make series, the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge from Great Britain and the brand new Vantage GT4 will both be available for participation in the European GT4 Cup along with all the other car models with a GT4 class.
