Next to announced pricing and details on the 2012 TT RS, another four new 2012 models also debuted, ranging from the mainstream to the exotic.
One of these new model is the brand-new 2012 Audi A6. It features nice German-styling, a plush, luxurious interior, and a choice of either a 211-horsepower four-cylinder or 310-hp V-6 engine. Also, next to it, a hybrid may be coming our way next year. This new model lost 78 pounds comparing it with its predecessor. The main reason for this big change is the extensive use of aluminum, including a new aluminum suspension that helps improve handling and driver control. Beside these it also features include optional LED headlights, Audi Connect with Google Earth and Wi-Fi Hotspot capability, and a sporty “S line” package for base models. Prices begin at $41,700 for four-cylinder models and $49,900 for the V-6.
Of course, we can not forget about the also all-new for 2012 is the A7. This isa strong opponent for the BMW 5 Series GT, extending Audi’s reach into all areas of the luxury car market. The company describes the new A7 design as an “icon” and “emotional.” It standard interior include four-zone climate control and a Bang and Olufsen audio system with Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Google functionality with Wi-Fi Hotspot capability. With a 310 hp 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 and 28 mph highway, the A7 is sure to please spirited drivers as well as commuters. Prices begin at $59,250.
About Audi’s A8 flagship we spoke in a previous article, but we’ll resume it here. This model is now equipped with more grace and prestige for next year. The A8 L W12 comes with a 500-hp 6.3-liter 12-cylinder engine and a $133,500 price tag, a $48,800 increase over the A8 L 4.2 Quattro. Its 4.4-second sprint to 60 mph tells a lot about this car. Beside this the customers will be happy to get a massage from its 22-way adjustable Valcona leather seats. Other new features include Balao Brown interior package, and standard Google Earth and Wi-Fi Hotspot capability. Base model A8s come with a 372 hp 4.2 liter V-8 and Bose audio system, with prices starting at $78,750.
And the last but not the least, the limited edition R8 GT Quattro Coupe. This model features the company’s stellar 560-hp 5.2 liter V-10 engine, but unfortunately it is limited to only 90 vehicles, because is just a bit too expensive. It includes exclusive colors, a plethora of lightweight carbon fiber body trim pieces, a fixed-wing rear spoiler, and an individually numbered gear shifter. While “base” R8s begin at $114,200, the Quattro Coupe will deflate its owner’s bank account a cool $196,800–that’s $54,666 per second to 60 mph, or slightly less than $100 per mph of top speed.
All these prices do not include destination charges or other fees.
