Lexus, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation, published the first photo (pictured above) and some new details of the upcoming 2012 IS-F (Euro-spec) high performance saloon.
Considering that most of the changes are technical, the new model looks pretty much the same as the old one except for that new rows of LED daytime lights, inspired by the new GS, which seem to be the new Lexus design signature.
The 2012 Lexus IS-F is designed to be more dynamic than ever before, adopting a retuned suspension with new shock absorbers, larger stabilizer bars and revised spring rates. The chassis has been also revised and while it offers higher ride comfort, it results in less body roll. In addition, the new model comes with stronger stabilizer bars, new bearings and the new BBS individual 19 – inch alloy wheels with 14-spoke design.
The new pack also offers upgraded interior with elements inspired by the LF-A supercar and new colors for the leather upholstery. Baside this, the crimson leather trim can be ordered now for the coupe-cabriolet IS 250C in the equipment line Luxury line, where it is in precious wood trim gray bird’s eye maple combined.
In 2012 power continues to be provided by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 423 PS (311 kW / 417 hp) and 505 Nm (372 lb-ft) of torque. This engine enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 270 km/h (167 mph).
Price: starts at $60 600, the same as last year, so the upgrades come free of charge.
