by Ionut Dragomir

Joining the expanded X3 line-up from this fall will be the BMW X5 and X6, which will also get an Exclusive Edition model and additional equipment options, new exterior colours and new sets of light alloy wheels to choose from.

According to the manufacturer, the latest additions to the range of optional equipment and the BMW Individual package will be introduced simultaneously for the BMW X5 and the BMW X6. For example, a new color will be added to the choice of exclusive BMW Individual exterior colours – Citrine Black Metallic, and door sill finishers will feature the BMW Individual designation. These finishers will be included in the BMW Individual composition package that will be available for both models.

However, let’s take them separately. We’ll start with BMW X5, which will come with some updates that will add even more sportiness to the exclusive look. The BMW X5 Sport Package includes the new M leather steering wheel with integrated gearshift paddles. Beside this, BMW Individual extended Merino leather trim is now available in Amaro Brown, while door sill finishers will feature the BMW Individual designation.

Coming in the exterior finish Platinum Bronze Metallic, plus the front door sill finishers featuring the BMW Edition designation and the rear sills bearing the BMW lettering, the BMW X5 Exclusive Edition model will become available from this autumn. Another additional option for the exterior are new 20-inch light alloy wheels with Y spoke styling.

The BMW X5 interior is further enhanced with the BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite, the wood trim in dark Bamboo grain, plus black floor mats with oyster-colored edging. Beside this, the front sport seats upholstered in Nevada leather Oyster with black contrasting seams will feature heating and electric seat adjustment for maximum comfort.

And, finally, the BMW X5 xDrive30d will also be available with BMW BluePerformance technology and will fully meet all of the requirements of the EU6 exhaust emissions standard.

Let’s move on to BMW X6, which will be offered with some additions to the range of optional equipment and the BMW Individual package. These additions will include the Citrine Black Metallic that will be added to the choice of exclusive BMW Individual exterior colours. Furthermore, door sill finishers will feature the BMW Individual designation. Another additional option for the Exclusive Edition are new 20-inch light alloy wheels with Y spoke styling.

For the interior, BMW Individual extended Merino leather trim is also now available in Amaro Brown. In addition, the front sport seats upholstered in Nevada leather Oyster with black contrasting seams will also feature heating and electric seat adjustment for maximum comfort.

The new BMW X6 will come finished in Mineral Silver Metallic, while interior highlights include the BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite, the wood trim in dark Bamboo grain, plus black floor mats with oyster-coloured edging. Coming for the first time as Exclusive Edition model, the BMW X6 will show its new face this autumn.

“These models feature the unmistakable combination of sport and luxury that is reflected in the premium character of the design, technology and features that intensify the unique driving experience of the BMW X Series,” the automaker brags in a statement for the press.

So far details about pricing are still a mystery, but keep in mind that, for 2012, X6’s price range between $58,900 and $89,500 and X5’s price range between $47,200 and $86,400.
