‘Imported from Detroit’ commercial, by Chrysler: Video

by Zack Colt

Chrysler 300’s new eight-speed transmission got new commercial all for itself. The idea of the spot is the fact that buying a new car isn’t at all about the figures, but all about style, quality and eventually, about what you want to be seen in.
The commercial keeps the familiar “Imported from Detroit” message, haveing a nice retro touch giving the sensation of classy and artsy old times, but this is only the appearance. The 60 second clip shows the car while cruising Detroit, with glances of people’s normal life and activities, and flashes of the machine’s lucury details. Interesting merge Chrysler’s creation departament has choosen for this commercial, taking into consideration the fact that everything about this video looks vintage, and the car itself is nothing but modern. But the icing of the cake of this peculiar irony is the song that covers it, which is a remix of Jay-Z – Heart of the City (Ain’t no love).

“The new commercial continues our ‘Imported from Detroit’ theme by taking this great city to the rest of the world and captures a day-in-the-life of local citizens in and around Detroit,” commented Saad Chehab, President and CEO of the Chrysler Brand.

Great news for Chrysler fans, the fact that the old automatic has been replaced, not to mention the look of the car. Check out the video to see the much controversed commercial. Enjoy!
