Recently, the British sports car maker, Ginetta has revealeded its latest model – the G40. This car was priced at £29.950, but it seems that Ginetta wants more. The automaker decided it’s time to get back to the drawing board and come up with a new sports car that will be twice as expensive compared to their G40.

The British car maker claims that the new model will take its power from a 3.7 liter delivering a total output of 310 BHP. This way the sports car will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 in around 4 seconds and a top speed of 165 mph, while it will weight 1.100 kg.

“A £68.000, full carbon fiber bodied, 3.7 liter sports car, weighing less than 1.100 kg and delivering 310 BHP at the wheels with a top speed of 165 mph and a 0-60 mph time in around four seconds”, as a short Ginetta statement says.

So far these are all the details availabe about the new sports car from Ginetta, but taking inot account the performance figures, this model would be a competitor for the Porsche Boxter.

As a reminder, the G40R is powered by a tuned 2.0 liter Ford Duratec engine, delivering 175 BHP at 6.700 rpm and 140 lb-ft of torque at 5.000 rpm in standard form. However, it can be boosted up to 280 BHP, while weighing just 840 kg with half a tank of fuel.
