VolksWagen- Ten Years of Transparent Factory in Dresden Part2

by Sweta

Stumbling block

Contradictory and yet wonderfully well adapted to the masterpiece Glass Manufactory at this place looks like an architectural stumbling block, which blends harmoniously into the big picture, but, as it would have been ever thus, as it should be. Has devised this place where automobile production is an art and a work of art itself is also, in the past ten years, the Henn Architects under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Gunter Henn. He has among other things, the Autostadt in Wolfsburg and the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt devised.

Fairytale castle

Surrounded by a moat, like a fairy tale castle with a drawbridge, is the manufacturer and has since trutzburgähnlich yet light and delicate. The visitors’ area, including the lobby, restaurant and lounge for the vehicle delivery, the architects has an open design with organic, flowing shapes. The soft curves act harmoniously, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invites you to linger.

The light-filled foyer of the Transparent Factory, named in reference to the greenhouses of locks Orangerie serves, incidentally, not only as a representative lobby, there are also cultural events held in conjunction with the Semper Opera and the Staatskapelle; a point much to the acceptance of the car manufacturer has contributed in the state capital.
