First released at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is coupe-like SUV powered by an inline-4 cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged and intercooled with direct fuel injection. Although Land Rover is specialized in creating highly powerful V8’s, they opted for the smaller one in the Evoque. The power output is 240 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 251 lb-ft of torque at 1750 rpm. This comes with an acceptable fuel consumption of 19mpg in the city and 28 on the highway. This power is connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The acceleration to 60 is made in 6.9 seconds for the three-door version (which Land Rover calls the coupe) and 7.0 seconds for the five-door. According to mfr, the top speed for the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque will be of 135 mph.
Although this car performs really well off-road, it offers urban comfort on the inside. There’s plenty of head and leg room, and five passengers fit easily both in the 3-door Evoque and in the five-door version.
This car weighs around 4000 pounds, which is not much, but not little either for this class
The 2012 Range Rover Evoque has been available for purchase since autumn 2011. The base price is $44,000, for the Pure Plus 5 door, and can go up to $53,000 for the 3 Door Dynamic Premium.
