Lee Noble left(sold) the Noble Automotive in 2006 that he established back in 1999. In an interview with British Autocar, Mr. Noble announced his plans to introduce a new supercar next year.
This new mid-engined two-seater coupe would be powered by an eight cylinder gasoline engine producing 400-650 hp.
Power would be sent to rear wheels via Graziano six-speed manual transmission(also used in the Noble M600).
Final power output depends on how much money the customer wants to spend, but even the top version would cost less than £100,000 ($161,960). Base model would start at around £70,000 ($113,722).
No information on the company name or what this new supercar will be called once it goes on sale sometimes in 2010.
However Mr. Noble did confirm that the car has all-round double wishbone suspension with steel brakes (but no anti-lock system) and a spaceframe chassis. Projected weight is less than 1200 kg (2654 lbs), meaning that with 650 hp it should hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 3.5 seconds, 0-100 mph (161 km/h) in less than 7.0 seconds.
The cars will be built in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and production will likely be limited to 100 units a year. We expect Mr. Noble to reveal more details in the near future.
