The 5-Series GT is one of the most unsuccessful models BMW has ever offered. However, the company is bound and determined to get the GT formula right and will more than likely be doing so with the new generation 3-Series.
ENGINE-
Lets see what the engine has got in itself, well the Engine options will carryover from the standard model, so expect choices to include:
- A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with outputs of 184 PS (135 kW / 181 hp) and 240 hp (180 kW / 245 PS)
- A turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder with 300 hp (225 kW / 306 PS)
- A 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with outputs of 116 PS (85 kW / 114 hp) and 143 PS (105 kW / 141 hp)
- Transmission options for the 3 Series Wagon include a sporty six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic, which is standard on the BMW 330d. Both transmissions come equipped with Auto Start-Stop technology to help conserve fuel.
EXTERIOR-
The 2013 BMW 3 Series GT will be 15 inches longer than the standard model and will offer a bonus of more headroom due to the shooting brake layout.the new upmarket 2013 BMW 3 Series GT will have softer styling than the current 3 Series saloon. Its short overhangs and overall profile mimic the larger 5 Series GT, and while the nose sports a traditional ‘kidney’ grille, there are some changes at the back. the tail-lights below the rear lift-back tailgate.
There’s also a smooth bumper, and while we’ve seen other 3 Series GT cars with spoilers and possible M styling kits, this appears to be a lower-spec model. The four-door coupe designed body will combine a set of raised, sliding rear seats with a high lifting tailgate.
INTERIORS-
Inside, the 2013 BMW 3 Series GT will feature a higher driving position and will be better equipped than its saloon counterpart. A larger luggage area, more rear passenger legroom and a raised ride height will make it more practical, too.
