The Focus RS is going to hit the stores in 2015, confirms Ford officials.
Power will get boost from a new 4-cylinder, 2.3-liter powerful engine developed by Ford to give approximately 330 hp (246 kW). The same engine will be used for the Europe specific car which will be out in 2014 and will use the most recent technology meant to reduce fuel consumption.
The new engine will be diagonally fitted and would give more horsepower and torque compared to its European rival.
This move of the company will surely maintain the top notch place of the model in Ford’s European lineup where bulk sales to come, of course.
There were reports earlier that electric motors will be used for the rear wheels to cut emissions and boost performance, but such a thing is not happening now since inducting such a technology would prove to be more expensive.
The company is also equipping it with its own sound system to enlarge engine tab inside by opening a valve between the engine and the cabin.
The car will have a front suspension, just like the previous RS. This suspension layout has been neglected for the current ST since the torque vectoring system is enough to handle enough output.
More to all these, the model will also feature tougher brakes and tires, and also a swanky interior cabin. It is likely to be sold particularly in a five-door hatchback version.
