2016 Lincoln Navigator to get V6 Engine

by SpeedLux

The Lincoln Navigator used to have a final say at America’s swanky suburbs once, but the current model has lost all the sheen and failed to attain the fame of the original in the face of strong competition from Infiniti, Cadillac and Mercedes. However, Lincoln is backing its commitment to restore the model to original glory as a company official has confirmed a replacement is in the pipeline.

Likely to be based on the 2015 Ford F-150, the redeveloped Navigator is expected to be powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 365 bhp (272 kW) and 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) of torque. There can also be an entry-level 3.7-liter V6 engine that emits 302 bhp (225 kW) and 278 lb-ft (376 Nm) of torque. This is not much to be frank, but the current model has a 5.4-liter V8 that gives out 310 bhp (231 kW) and 365 lb-ft (494 Nm) of torque.

The magazine also reports that the Navigator’s corporate compatriot the Ford Expedition could be offered with the above mentioned engines as well as a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 360 hp (268 kW) and 380 lb-ft (515 Nm) of torque.

Let us hope that the redesigned Navigator comes out good and performs as per expectations.
