Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake spied testing at the Nurburgring

by SpeedLux

After having recently disclosed some of the spy pictures of the 2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, we received yet another batch of spy images of the model undergoing testing at the tracks of Nurburgring.

Considered to be a viable alternative to the 2014 Audi RS6 Avant, Jaguar’s Sportbrake version of the XFR-S will get a similar treatment as it sedan cousin, which include bigger alloy wheels, larger air intakes in front bumper, beefier brake kit and a quad exhaust arrangement at the rear.

Power would come from same supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine which will generate 542 hp (405 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque. The powerful engine will further be well mated to an eight-speed gearbox developed by ZF. It will enable the model to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in approximately 4.8 seconds which is faster by 2 seconds as compared to the sedan which does it in 4.6 sec. The model will also come with electronically-capped top speed of 186 mph (300 kmph) just like in the sedan.

The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake is expected to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in September.
