2013 Audi Quattro Concept confirmed for IAA

by SpeedLux

Audi has confirmed that they will reveal a revised Quattro Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The 2010 Quattro Concept was based on the RS5, but this one will ride on a significantly shortened RS7 platform as per the reports. The 2013 concept will have a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine generating around 600 HP (441 kW) working together with a 170 HP (125 kW) electric motor.

This combined setup enables the plug-in hybrid concept to give a combined output of almost 800 HP (588 kW) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque sent to a permanent all-wheel drive system. With the help of this, the model would be able to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in just 3.4 seconds and would come with a top speed of 186 mph (300 kmph).

In addition to the above, the model would come with other highlights that include an adaptive sports suspension, limited slip differential and ceramic brakes.

There are rumours that a limited-run production model is expected to be out somewhere in 2016 and will have a starting price of more than 200,000 EUR (about 265,200 USD or 171,900 GBP).
