A prototype of the 2014 BMW M3 Sedan crashed while undergoing testing procedures on the tracks of the Nürburgring in Germany.
The accident took place on the Metzgesfeld area where the driver of the car lost control of this high performance sedan and crashed into the right guide rail. However the good thing is that the driver managed to get out of the car without any serious injuries.
The bad news is that the 2014 M3 Sedan prototype sustained light damages to the front side (including windscreen) and the passenger side and therefore the car was sent back to the technical center with an enclosed transport trailer.
Just to give a preview, the new M3 will come fitted with a TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine that would generate 430 HP (316 kW) at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque in excess of 369 lb-ft (500 Nm). BMW also claims that the 2014 M3 is now more fuel efficient as the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have dropped by 25 percent as compared to the outgoing model, while the curb weight has gone below the 1,500 kg (3,306 lbs) mark.
