Next-generation Audi R8 rendered once again

by SpeedLux

Well known artist Lutz Valdeig has recently rendered of what could be a second generation Audi R8 look like.

Just a couple of months ago we got to see Sebastian Kunz’s render of the 2014 Audi R8 which was based on the Nanuk concept introduced at IAA in Frankfurt at that time. Now we have come across another render of Audi’s next-gen super car which is pretty distinguishable from the Nanuk concept unlike the first rendering. The car is envisioned with a cherry red paint exterior scheme and has contrasting aluminum details as a reference to lightweight technology in the Audi Space Frame design.

The company had confirmed that the next generation of the Audi R8 will be launched in 2014 and will be built at the newly established Böllinger Höfe facility.

Details about the car are limited as of now, but it will supposedly maintain the magnitude of the current model while its weight may reduce to 3,307 lbs (1,500 kg). Yet to be confirmed but we can expect engines to be carried over but with an extra 25 hp (19 kW) and should feature stop/start and cylinder deactivation technology which will result in a fuel economy of up to 10 percent.
