The Cadillac ATS-V is now proceeding closer towards the production phase and so now new details are starting to emerge about the upcoming model.
According to a report by one of the auto magazines, the sports sedan will come equipped with a new twin-turbo 3.2-liter V6 instead of the twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 mill. Not much detail is available about the engine as of now but the sources have suggested that the smaller displacement will help the model to achieve more robust platform and will allow it to produce an output of more than 500 hp (373 kW).
If this output of more than 500 hp (373 kW) works out, the ATS-V could be termed as significantly more powerful than the 2014 BMW M3 which comes equipped with a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder that can generate around 430 HP (316 kW). With this output, the model also comes in contention with the Mercedes C63 AMG successor which could come equipped with a turbo charged 4.0-liter V8 engine with an estimated output of 485-500 HP (356-367 kW).
However the details are yet to be confirmed by the company and till then we will only have to rely at the report and wait for the official confirmation from the company.
