Joss Supercar has been in the making for five years and the development is almost finished. Created by Matthew Thomas it is the first real Australian supercar to go against the likes from Europe and U.S.
Mid-mounted 6.8-liter V8 is developed exclusively in Melbourne for the JOSS and packs 500 horsepower.
Body is built up using composite carbon fiber, kevlar, GRP and honeycomb. The space-frame chassis is constructed of composite aluminium and honeycomb steel.
The overall weight of the Joss Supercar is just 940 kg(2072 pounds) and on tests it has managed to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Expected figures on the production model are very likely going to be in 3 seconds flat. Top speed is over 340 km/h (211 mph).
The philosophy behind the JOSS design is to create a body that uses the airflow both over and under the car to provide second-to-none handling and roadholding yet still provide a comfortable, supple ride.
Joss supercar will be priced around $600,000 and Mr. Thomas expects to build a maximum of 25 units in its first year, so far he has received already 10 orders.
Official launch will be in just 66 days, so watch this place for more details.
