Lamborghini gives Italian State Police its newest super sports car, the new Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia

Speeders in Italy need to be more careful now.

Lamborghini has donated the police version of its newest super sports car, the Huracán LP 610-4 Polizia to the Italian State Police.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, handed over the car to the head of the Italian State Police, Prefect Alessandro Pansa, in a ceremony in Rome at the “Museo delle Auto Storiche della Polizia di Stato”.

This is not the first time Italian Police uses Lamborghini as a highway patrol car.

The new Huracán LP 610-4 replaces the Gallardos used by the Italian police force since 2004 and 2008, featuring an updated 5.2 liter V10 engine with 610 hp. This new Police “cruiser” has a top speed over 202 mph, meaning there are not too many cars that can potentially get away.

It is hard to tell how much actual work the Huracan Police car will do, but according to Lamborghini the new Huracán police car will begin service within the end of this year in order to sustain security on Italian roads by continuing accident and crime prevention. Sounds like a plan!
