The automaker Scion has officially confirmed that it will be bringing its first ever sedan model side by side with the company’s iM hatchback model in the near future. The company announces that public can expect to see both these vehicle models first hand when the 2015 New York International Auto Show opens its doors.
Now, this kind of reminds some people about what Jim Lentz mentioned when December 2014 had just begun. The CEO of Toyota North America mentioned that the Japanese automaker was considering converting the Scion brand into one that fits entry level customers while remaining premium. In addition to that, Doug Murtha, Vice President Scion, also revealed that the company was preparing at least three models in the pipeline then. Well, apparently, two of these models have now been disclosed as the company has officially announced the imminent arrival of its iM hatchback and its very first sedan ever.
Scion claims that all three models will be targeted towards independent customers who are in the age range of 18 to 34 years old. To tell the truth, the iM hatchback is actually just the North American version of the Toyota Auris, only sportier. Unfortunately, details regarding this particular sedan model remain scarce at the moment. Yet, the Auto Guide reported back in June 2014 that the sedan would be based on the Mazda2 sedan model. Still, nothing has become official as of yet.
Well, no matter whether it is the Japanese automaker’s iM hatchback or first sedan model you are expecting, the wait should not be too long. Both will be fully revealed come April 2015 as the New York International Auto Show finally kicks off. At least, we know for sure that this information is accurate for it comes from the automaker in question itself.
