There may not be much going on with the Japanese automaker, Mazda. Yet, it turns out that the Japanese company has calmly equipped the Mazda6 facelift with a new drivetrain, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain. At least, this is what Mazda Bosnia and Herzegovina dealer is offering to the customers in the country.
If you remember correctly, the Japanese automaker introduced the present generation Mazda6 for the very first time ever during the Moscow Motor Show event of the year 2012. Back then, not long after the automotive exhibition event kicked off, the company made an official announcement, saying that it would also consider an all-wheel-drive variant. Unfortunately, after so long, there has not been any word yet on how that AWD variant is shaping up. Now, however, it seems that the Japanese company will actually be offering this drivetrain for the mildly facelifted version of its luxury 6 sedan. The drivetrain will reportedly be made as an optional package.
In fact, the Bosnia and Herzegovina division of Mazda has already started sales of the Mazda6 that has an AWD drivetrain installed on it. This is the wagon version, though, and the AWD drivetrain is available only for the Revolution Top and Attraction trim levels. Both these trims come with a turbocharged 2.2L 4-cylinder diesel engine, with power output rated at 175 hp for the Revolution Top trim and 150 hp for the Attraction trim. Also, the Revolution Top trim is treated with a 6-speed automatic transmission whereas the Attraction trim receives a 6-speed manual transmission.
If you are interested in the pricing of these vehicles, Mazda is offering the Attraction trim, with its AWD drivetrain, at KM66,900, equivalent to approximately 34,223 Euros. As for the Revolution Top trim, the Japanese automaker is asking for KM78,400, or somewhere around 40,106 Euros.
